Garin Park Photoshoot Information
For parking, after you enter the park, go around the circle to the left, and then park in the lot marked (second right). The lot is to the north-east of the circle. That is where I will meet you.
Garin Park, part of the East Bay Park District, is one of my favorite places for photoshoots! The is a barn area, a neat trellis thing, access to wooded and grassy areas, a pond, and even some old tractor equipment that can be fun!
There are bathrooms close to the parking lot in an area next to the barn.
When the kiosk at the entrance to the park is attended, it is $5 per car for access. Typically during the winter I do not end up having to pay and weekdays in the summer it is often not attended as well.
During the winter/spring Garin can be extremely green with great views of green hills. There is also a bloom of mustard flowers that look great with yellow outfits around April as well as some orange flowers on the hill. There is also a large dandelion patch during the spring that looks quite nice.
During the summer the hills turn golden and it becomes quite nice, albeit a bit dry.
There is poison oak in the park but if you stick to the trails when you are in the woods you will not end up encountering it.
Note: cellphone access in Garin Park is not always that great. Often it works but sometimes it can be delayed. Texting when you start up the hill to the park (off of Mission) is generally a good idea so I know when you are coming up.
